CoinFello, an AI agent built for secure smart contract interaction, has unveiled an open-source OpenClaw skill in partnership with MetaMask to enable Moltbot’s AI agents to execute on-chain transactions using delegated smart wallet permissions.

Built on ERC-4337 smart accounts and ERC-7710 delegations via the MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit, the framework allows users to maintain custody of private keys while granting limited permissions to agents like CoinFello.

The system follows a least-privilege model. CoinFello converts natural-language user requests into delegated transactions that are validated before execution, reducing the need to expose private keys or API credentials, CoinFello stated.

The release reflects growing momentum around AI agents interacting with blockchain infrastructure.

According to CoinFello CTO Brett Cleary, the industry needs more robust security approaches if AI agents are to play a meaningful role in the onchain economy, rather than relying on models that provide autonomous systems with private keys.

“The CoinFello Skill introduces hardware-isolated keys and fine-grained delegations, giving AI agents a secure way to execute transactions while helping bootstrap onchain capabilities for the broader agent ecosystem,” Cleary stated.

The launch comes as the OpenClaw ecosystem sees rapid growth, with over 150,000 GitHub stars, 22,000 forks, and more than 416,000 npm downloads in the past month.

Moltbots can perform actions such as ERC-20 swaps, cross-chain bridging, NFT interactions, staking, lending, portfolio rebalancing, and multi-step trading strategies through natural-language prompts.

The skill follows the Agent Skills specification, works with OpenClaw environments and Claude Code, and is released under the MIT licens

Crypto-related hacks declined sharply in February, but attackers are increasingly targeting users through phishing campaigns and malicious wallet approvals — a shift suggesting they are focusing more on exploiting human behavior than on vulnerabilities in smart contracts.

According to Nominis’ monthly report, roughly $49 million was lost to crypto-related exploits in February.

A single breach involving Step Finance, a portfolio dashboard and analytics platform built on the Solana blockchain, accounted for the bulk of the losses, with attackers draining approximately $30 million.

The February figure marks a steep decline from the $385 million stolen in January. While one month of data does not necessarily indicate a sustained trend, the drop suggests that large-scale protocol exploits were less prevalent during the period.

Social engineering attacks caused more cumulative damage than traditional smart contract exploits, Nominis said, with phishing campaigns increasing sharply during the month. These attacks typically trick users into interacting with malicious links or signing fraudulent transactions.

Private individuals were the most common victims, rather than centralized exchanges or decentralized finance protocols.

The most prevalent attack method was authorization abuse, in which victims unknowingly granted wallet permissions that allowed attackers to move funds from their accounts.

According to the data, Bitcoin Supply in Loss is once again approaching the 40–45% range. Historically, this zone has tended to appear during transitional phases of market cycles, particularly during bear market developments or extended corrective periods.
