Circle’s outperformance highlights USDC’s staying power, says bullish Wall Street analyst
Circle (CRCL) has recently outperformed other crypto-linked equities, a move investment bank William Blair said reflects more than shifting macro conditions.

“It is tempting to ascribe recent strength to surging oil prices and perhaps a more hawkish Fed,” wrote analysts Andrew Jeffrey and Adib Choudhury in a Thursday note to clients.

“We think there is more at play, however, including $USDC market cap resilience despite a crypto drawdown and growing appreciation of Circle's economic model and stablecoin infrastructure leadership," the analysts said.

The bank reiterated its outperform rating on the stock, arguing the rally, which has lifted shares roughly 126% from a February low, reflects improving sentiment toward stablecoin infrastructure rather than short-term market noise.

The shares were 1.2% higher at publication time, trading around $114.20.

Crypto-linked equities have broadly tracked, and often amplified, the recent downturn in digital assets, with shares of exchanges, miners and crypto-treasury companies falling as bitcoin retreated from its late-2025 highs.

Stocks such as Coinbase (COIN) and other crypto-exposed firms have typically moved in tandem with digital asset prices, reflecting the sector’s tight linkage to trading volumes and token valuations, and in some cases declining even more sharply than the underlying assets during market stress.

Japanese bank Mizuho said in a report last week that part of Circle’s rally may be tied to the recent surge in oil prices following escalating tensions in the Middle East. Higher crude prices could stoke renewed inflation concerns, the bank said, potentially dampening expectations for Federal Reserve interest rate cuts.

What’s driving the $HYPE price up?

Bitcoin’s rally above $70,000 following Wednesday’s CPI data helped lift sentiment across the broader crypto market, even as geopolitical tensions continued to escalate.

Gains among major altcoins also provided momentum for smaller tokens such as Hyperliquid.

However, $HYPE appears particularly well positioned for a potential breakout as trading activity in the energy sector intensifies amid the escalating U.S.–Israel conflict with Iran.

Data from Coinglass shows that Hyperliquid’s open interest rose from $1.18 billion to more than $1.56 billion, marking a 32% increase between March 6 and March 12, 2026.

Much of this activity has been driven by traders entering futures positions as oil prices surged. Crude briefly climbed toward $120 before pulling back.

Even after the retreat, prices remain above $100, as the Strait of Hormuz blockade continues to disrupt a key global shipping route, with Iranian leaders insisting the waterway should remain closed.

StarGate cut VeChain’s annual $VTHO emissions by 50% as locked $VET hit 10.7 billion three months after the Hayabusa fork.

Active StarGate stakers increased by 93.9% as delegated stake surged to 5.9 billion $VET.

VeChain’s StarGate staking platform has seen strong growth three months after the Hayabusa fork introduced a new rewards model on VeChainThor. The staking platform launched in December last year, changing how $VTHO is generated, distributed, and burned across the network.

VeChain’s latest figures show annual $VTHO emissions have fallen by 50.2%. The network’s previous model produced about 13.67 billion $VTHO each year, which has dropped to 7.3 billion annually under the new staking structure.

The structure rewards wallets that support validator operations. VeChain linked the lower emission rate to a 100% base fee burn and other gas fee changes. As a result, the network has moved away from fixed and passive token generation.

VeChain revealed that the platform now holds 10.7 billion $VET, with delegated stake accounting for 45.5% of the total locked amount at 5.9 billion $VET, while validator stake accounts for 3.2 billion $VET.

The platform posted sharp growth in user participation. Active stakers increased by 93.9% over thirteen weeks. Four out of five NFTs are now delegated, compared to about one in two at launch.

The new rule stating that only delegated $VET earns bonus $VTHO led to user adjustments. Meanwhile, undelegated $VET dropped from 2.9 billion at launch to 1.6 billion by March 3, 2026, increasing the wider adoption of the delegation model.

As CNF reported, more than 5.2 million VeChain wallets now earn weekly B3TR rewards. Users have completed over 48 million verified actions across 50-plus live apps.
