Investment Community has learned that Kimi, the dark side of the moon, is raising another $1 billion in funding, with a pre-money valuation of $18 billion (approximately RMB 120 billion).

About a month ago, Kimi completed a funding round of over $700 million, valuing the company at $10 billion; and in a $500 million funding round at the end of last year, its valuation was only $4.3 billion.

In less than three months, three rounds of funding, and a valuation quadrupled—Kimi not only became a "decagonal" (valuation exceeding $10 billion) at the fastest speed, but also set a record for the most consecutive funding rounds for a large-scale model company in China, exceeding the IPO fundraising amount of large-scale model companies during the same period.

Looking at the primary market, such a pace and scale of funding is almost unprecedented.

 What ignited all of this was the "K2.5 moment" brought about by Kimi's new model and the explosive growth in its business: in just 20 days since the end of January, its revenue has exceeded the total revenue for 2025, attracting a massive global user base. Unbeknownst to many, Chinese companies are rewriting the global AI narrative.

AI agents are quietly rewriting prediction market trading
Prediction markets have long promised to aggregate insights about future events. Increasingly, those signals are coming not just from people, but from machines.

According to David Minarsch, CEO and co-founder of Valory AG, the team behind the crypto-AI protocol Olas, autonomous AI agents are emerging as powerful tools for trading prediction markets, particularly for retail users trying to compete in an increasingly automated environment.

Valory builds products at the intersection of blockchain and multi-agent systems (MAS), and its current focus is Olas, formerly known as Autonolas. The protocol is designed as infrastructure for autonomous software agents that can run services on blockchains, interact with smart contracts, and cooperate with one another while earning crypto rewards.

The broader vision is what Minarsch calls an “agent economy”. A decentralized ecosystem where autonomous AI agents perform useful tasks and generate value for their users.

One of the most visible experiments in that vision is Polystrat, an AI agent launched on the prediction-market platform Polymarket in February 2026. The agent trades on behalf of users who self-custody and own it, executing strategies continuously around the clock.

“In a nutshell, Polystrat is an autonomous AI agent that trades on Polymarket 24/7 on behalf of its human user,” Minarsch said. The idea is simple: while humans sleep, work or lose focus, the agent keeps trading.

Prediction markets, platforms where users trade contracts tied to real-world outcomes, have surged from niche forecasting tools into a fast-growing corner of fintech over the past few years. The industry’s breakout moment came during the 2024 U.S. presidential election, when trading volumes spiked and the markets gained mainstream visibility, followed by

Ethereum Has Nearly 60% Chance of Losing Second Spot

According to Polymarket bettors, Ethereum (ETH) could be on the verge of losing its long-held status as the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

The latest data shows a 57% probability that the flagship will be "flipped" and lose its number two ranking by the end of the year.

Just two months ago, in January, for comparison, the odds of Ethereum losing its spot sat at a mere 14%.

Currently, the stablecoin giant Tether ($USDT) is the undisputed main candidate poised to overtake the smart contract platform.

Ethereum's number two spot

Ethereum has never successfully surpassed Bitcoin, but it came remarkably close during the ICO boom of 2017. In June 2017, Ethereum's market capitalization surged to represent approximately 30% of the entire cryptocurrency market, while Bitcoin's dominance briefly plummeted below 40%. At its peak, Ethereum's total value hovered around 80% to 83% of Bitcoin's, sparking immense "flippening" hype that ultimately faded.

Ethereum has maintained a near-ironclad grip on the second-largest market capitalization for most of its existence since launching in 2015. However, it has faced some challenges.

It has actually slipped below second place on a few rare occasions. During the massive altcoin volatility of 2018, $XRP, the Ripple-affiliated token, briefly overtook Ethereum in market capitalization multiple times.

$XRP first pushed Ethereum down to third place in early January 2018, and then repeated the feat later that year.

The looming $USDT threat

The current threat comes from the mushrooming growth of the Tether ($USDT) cryptocurrency.

Dogecoin is on the verge of reclaiming $0.10. The DOGE price today currently stands at about $0.098. At this price point, it would be tempting to say that it is almost there. However, the gap between $0.10 and $1 is wide. Nevertheless, some analysts are not dismissing it in 2026. But, they are explicit on the conditions that must be fulfilled first.

The first condition is Bitcoin. DOGE price prediction models consistently show DOGE performs best when Bitcoin is running. The recent recovery between $67,000 and almost $71,000 brought meme coins a temporary lift. This lift also influenced Dogecoin during the selloff as the market saw the memecoin defend the $0.088 support level. That’s encouraging. But DOGE needs Bitcoin to sustain momentum, not just bounce.
The second condition is a short squeeze. Dogecoin news from the derivatives market shows a dense cluster of short positions sitting between $0.10 and $0.11. If buying pressure pushes DOGE into that range fast, those shorts get liquidated and price spikes higher. A sweep toward $0.11 is plausible. It won’t confirm a bull trend, but it removes significant overhead resistance.

The third and most important condition is clearing $0.127. That’s the level where the bearish structure actually breaks. Right now, DOGE is still printing lower highs. The Chaikin Money Flow sits at -0.1. This is a clear indication of capital outflows. The moving averages are acting as resistance. Everything above the current price is a fight.

A path to $1 exists. It just needs all three dominoes to fall in the right order.
