After days of consolidation around the $1.40 level, $XRP may be approaching a decisive moment as technical indicators point to a potential breakout.

In this regard, insights by cryptocurrency trading expert Ali Martinez in an X post on March 14 noted that the digital asset has been consolidating inside a symmetrical triangle pattern.

This formation typically precedes a strong directional move once price escapes the narrowing range.

The triangle’s upper boundary slopes down from about $1.70, forming lower highs, while the lower boundary rises from roughly $1.28, creating higher lows. This tightening range reflects declining volatility as buyers and sellers reach equilibrium, often signaling an impending breakout.



Notably, the pattern formed after $XRP dropped more than 30%, with the asset then moving sideways while repeatedly testing both support and resistance. Each rejection has further compressed the range, bringing the price closer to the triangle’s apex, where a breakout becomes more likely.

What next for $XRP price

In this case, a decisive break above resistance or below support could trigger a move of about 30%. A bullish breakout above the descending resistance near $1.45 could send $XRP toward the $1.75–$1.80 range, while a drop below support around $1.34 may lead to a similar move to the downside.

Meanwhile, $XRP has shown some movement in the past 24 hours in line with broader cryptocurrency market sentiment. Despite the short-term positive shift, the asset remains well below its late-2025 peak of around $3.65, down roughly 62% from that high, reflecting broader caution in the crypto market.

Year-to-date performance remains negative, with some analysts noting declining March returns in recent years and warning of potential dips toward the $1.11–$1.30 range

Bitcoin is pushing into a more decisive part of its recovery. After spending weeks rebuilding from the February flush, the market is no longer just defending support. It is now pressing toward a key resistance cluster around the $80K, which makes this the kind of area where a simple relief rally either matures into something bigger or gets rejected back into range.

Bitcoin Price Analysis: The Daily Chart

The daily chart is improving, but it has not fully turned bullish yet. $BTC has managed to climb from the blue demand area near $60K to $62K and is now moving toward the old breakdown region around $75K to $80K. That is an important development, because this yellow zone acted as support before the market lost it during the broader downtrend. Reaching it again shows that buyers have regained some control, but reclaiming it is a different question altogether.

The broader structure still asks for caution. The price remains below the declining 100-day and 200-day moving averages, and both of them are still sloping lower, which means the macro trend has not been repaired yet. In other words, $BTC is rallying into overhead supply while still sitting under major trend filters. If buyers can force a daily acceptance above the $75K area, the technical picture would improve materially. If not, this remains a rebound inside a larger corrective phase.

On Friday, Bloomberg reported that HSBC, Hong Kong’s largest bank by assets, and a joint venture led by Standard Chartered are set to be among the first companies to receive the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s (HKMA) stablecoin licenses this month.

Authorities are reportedly prioritizing institutions already authorized to issue banknotes and will approve the two banks in the first batch, according to people familiar with the matter. Notably, the HKMA favors bank-led stablecoin issuers due to their robust capital base and ability to ensure greater safety while facilitating wider adoption, the sources affirmed.

Last month, the financial authority’s Chief Executive, Eddie Yue, announced it would grant the first, limited batch of stablecoin provider licenses in March as the review of 36 applications was nearly completed.

The HKMA enacted the Stablecoins Ordinance last August, which directs any individual or entity seeking to issue any fiat-referenced stablecoin (FRS) in Hong Kong, or any Hong Kong Dollar (HKD)-denominated token, to obtain a license from the financial regulator.

The number of licenses and the timetable had not yet been finalized and were subject to change. However, sources suggested March 24 as a possible date, as revealed by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), which first broke the news.

Industry sources suggested that Hong Kong’s licensing regime will initially prioritize the local currency. Standard Chartered has already announced plans to issue a Hong Kong dollar-pegged token.

Three institutional-grade validator firms — Figment, Galaxy Digital, and Attestant — will run the Ethereum network nodes that power BlackRock’s newest crypto product, the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust.

The fund launched Thursday on Nasdaq under the ticker ETHB, giving everyday investors a regulated way to hold Ether and collect staking rewards without managing a crypto wallet.

A First Day On The Books
Trading volume on the debut came in at roughly $15.5 million, based on Nasdaq data showing just under 593,000 shares changed hands.

Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart called it “very, very solid” for a first-day product launch. That said, ETHB fell short of two comparable Solana staking funds that hit the market in the past year — the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF pulled in $55.4 million when it debuted in October, while the REX-Osprey SOL + Staking ETF recorded $33.7 million on its first day of trading.

BlackRock entered Thursday’s session with $106.7 million already in the fund. Coinbase holds custody of the assets. The structure is split roughly 80% staked Ether and 20% unstaked Ether, according to the firm’s product page. Staking rewards will be paid out once a month.

The fund targets an annualized yield of around 4%, generated by locking up ETH tokens on the Ethereum blockchain through validators. Those validators — Figment, Galaxy Digital, and Bitwise-owned Attestant — process transactions on the network and earn rewards in return, which are then passed to fund shareholders.
