Cardano (ADA) Founder Charles Hoskinson Speaks Out: “The Clarity Act Will Be a Disaster for Cryptocurrencies”

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency sector, was a guest on David Gokhshtein’s show “The Breakdown”.

The program consisted of an extensive conversation focusing on crypto regulations and US politics.

Hoskinson harshly criticized the Clarity Act, currently under debate in the US. He argued that the bill classifies crypto assets as securities by default, hindering innovation in the sector. “The bill legalizes Gary Gensler’s approach,” Hoskinson stated, adding that even assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, and XRP would fail this test.

He argued that the bill gives the SEC excessive power and that the CFTC is underfunded. According to Hoskinson, the bill leaves DeFi developers unprotected and drives new projects overseas. He urged, “Don’t pass the bill, let’s continue winning in the courts.”

Hoskinson also criticized the process behind the bill. He said that the leadership of figures like David Sacks was inadequate, that 137 changes were made, and that institutions like NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) were not involved. He claimed that the bill ignored global harmonization and would make the US the worst country in the crypto space.

Hoskinson criticized the Trump administration, stating that its promises regarding cryptocurrency had not been fulfilled. He characterized the failure to release the Epstein files and the military operations against Iran as being built on lies. “Trump said he would be crypto-friendly, but the Clarity Act continues Biden’s policies,” he said. In the past 30 days, Tron earned nearly $25 million, primarily driven by stablecoin transactions, with Tether ($USDT) transfers accounting for a large portion of this activity.

These transfers are critical in markets where remittances, payments, and liquidity management rely on stablecoins.

Notably, Tron’s low fees and high-speed processing allow it to handle massive transaction volumes efficiently.

This combination of factors makes Tron a preferred network for traders and businesses who need speed without high costs.

In less than a day, BTC rallied to $76,000, marking its highest level since early February before correcting to $73,700.

Bitcoin continues to see a bit of upward pressure, as we are trying to turn the entire market around.
Bitcoin has rallied a bit during the session here on Monday to show signs of life yet again. Ultimately, this is a market that I think is in the middle of turning things around.
We are breaking above the 50-day EMA and if you’ve been watching me here at Daily Forex, you know that I’ve been talking about this $72,000 region as being important. Now that we are above there, if we can sustain above this area, eventually I think Bitcoin will go higher.
I think we are in the midst of trying to turn this whole thing around. It’s kind of interesting considering that the whole world has fallen apart, but at the same time, you can also say that Bitcoin fell apart first. Now, people are looking for some way to store money and maybe put some away.
We just recently passed the psychologically important 20 million Bitcoin mark, meaning that there’s only 1 million coins out there to be printed. But all things being equal, I think this is a huge washout that some institutional traders are starting to take advantage of.

We don’t really have a lot of momentum, and I wouldn’t expect that, at least not right away, but this looks more and more to me like a buy on the dip market with a limited part of your portfolio. I would not go into this too heavily. I recognize that we could turn right back around and fall apart.

After all, we had what looked like a bottoming pattern at the end of last year that started to rise, it broke above resistance and then collapsed, so you have to be very careful.
