What is EOS (EOS)

1. Project Introduction
EOS is a Layer 1 blockchain launched in 2018, originally developed by Block.one (B1), a Cayman Islands-based entity. EOS tokens power the EOS ecosystem, enabling access to network resources, governance participation, and secure dApp operations. EOS development is now supported by multiple organizations including EOS Network Foundation (ENF), EOS Network Ventures, and EOS Labs.
In May 2024, EOS passed a new tokenomics proposal that will disable inflation and burn 80% of future token supply. From June 1, 2024, EOS supply will be capped at 2.1 billion tokens.
