1. What Is Treehouse (TREE)?
Treehouse is the first DeFi protocol dedicated to building a Decentralized Fixed Income Layer (DFI). Its core products include tAssets (tradeable staked assets) and DOR (Decentralized Offered Rates). It aims to address interest rate fragmentation in the crypto market and provide a stable, unified yield benchmark for digital assets.
2. How Does Treehouse Work?
tAssets (LST 2.0) Staking Arbitrage: Users deposit ETH or LST into the protocol to mint tETH. They can earn profits through rate arbitrage across platforms while contributing to DOR's consensus mechanism.
DOR Rate Mechanism: Panelists and Operators participate in on-chain consensus to set standardized rates (e.g., TESR), similar to LIBOR/SOFR in traditional finance.
Rate Querying Fees: Accessing DOR data requires TREE tokens as payment. These fees are distributed to reward Panelists and Delegators who maintain the network.
Governance and Ecosystem Incentives: TREE holders can participate in protocol governance and voting. Token allocation also includes an ecosystem prize pool to support project development.
3. Who Founded Treehouse?
Team Structure: Team members have expertise in blockchain infrastructure, financial markets, and technical implementation. CEO Vijay Chetty previously worked at Ripple, dYdX, Uniswap, and so on.
Funding Milestones:
March 2021: Pre-seed round was completed, with participation from CoinHako, CRC Capital, and Global Founders Capital, among others.
March 2022: Around $18 million was raised in a seed round from investors such as YZi Labs (formerly Binance Labs), Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Jump Capital.
April 2025: Private round was completed at an estimated valuation of $400 million, with investors including Jordi Alexander and MassMutual Ventures
